Location: Norwell

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director of Development, the part-time Development Associate will perform a variety of skilled administrative and clerical duties directly related to development activities. These include maintaining donor databases, developing/sending mass mailings, assisting with and participating in special events, gift processing and acknowledgments. This is a fast-paced position that requires prior knowledge of and experience with fundraising databases, Microsoft Word and Excel.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Maintains data and donor databases and lists for the organization
● Responsible for accurate and timely gift entry and acknowledgment process
● Creates reports, queries, and exports for mailings, email marketing, donor recognition and financial reporting
● Responsible for gift batches and reports for finance and ensure gifts are reconciled accurately
● Ensures the integrity of the database, including clean-up tasks and data enhancement services
● Primary contact for donor database when team members require assistance
● Assists with event planning, support and logistics
● Responsible for technical aspects of fundraising events

QUALIFICATIONS
Skills & Characteristics
● Comprehensive knowledge and experience working with donor databases (DonorPerfect – Ready, Set, Auction preferred)
● Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and particular expertise with MSWord and MSExcel
● Experience in data migration, integration, and mass batch import in CRM software, conditional mail merges, Internet, database management a must
● Demonstrated success in using logic and problem solving to troubleshoot software complications
● Strong verbal and written communication skills
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as part of a team
● Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and stay organized
● Detailed-oriented, enthusiastic and energetic
● Strong sense of responsibility, effective time manager with the ability to multitask in a fast paced work environment
● Flexibility in order to assist with occasional evening and weekend events
● Ability to work additional hours in the weeks before and after the Annual Golf Outing, Gala, and Annual Appeal
● Awareness and adherence of the confidentiality of our work
● Ability to communicate in professional, pleasant manner with donors, vendors and staff

EXPERIENCE
● Minimum of 3 years of experience in database management or related field
● Non-profit sector experience a plus Education
● Associate’s Degree or equivalent years experience; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
